The Guinness record turrón in Tenerife marks a historic milestone: The municipality of Santiago del Teide in Tenerife has entered the Guinness Book of Records with an unprecedented gastronomic achievement – creating the world’s longest turrón, reaching 1,115.15 meters in length. This extraordinary event took place on Sunday, December 22, 2025, at Puerto de Santiago Square, establishing Tenerife as a venue for international milestones.
Guinness Record Turrón Tenerife: Officially Certified
The record validation was performed by Anouk de Timary, official Guinness World Records judge, who certified that the turrón met all the strict technical and sanitary requirements demanded by the international organization. The process included precise measurement, ingredient verification, and quality control at each stage of preparation.
Traditional Canarian Ingredients
The record turrón was made with local ingredients linked to Canarian pastry tradition:
- Almonds
- Honey
- Gofio (emblematic Canarian product)
- Banana
- Sugar
The preparation was coordinated by chef Pablo Pastor along with gastronomic sector professionals, members of ACYRE Canarias and ACYRE Madrid, local producers, and specialized technical staff.

Citizen Participation and Festive Atmosphere
From early morning, hundreds of people participated in the different phases of the event, which combined gastronomy, cultural promotion, and local market. The initiative was consolidated as a large collective and public preparation, turning Puerto de Santiago Square into the epicenter of a community celebration.
Social Commitment: Solidarity Turrón
Beyond the record, the initiative incorporated an important social component. The prepared turrón was donated to 20 social organizations in the municipality that work with vulnerable families, guaranteeing a responsible distribution plan without food waste.
According to mayor Emilio Navarro: “The most social part of this project is what has interested us most from the beginning. We want no home in Tenerife to be without a piece of this typical Christmas sweet made with our local product during these holidays.”
Organization and Institutional Support
The action was organized by the Santiago del Teide City Council, in collaboration with:
- Association of Entrepreneurs and Merchants of Santiago del Teide (ASEMTEIDE)
- ACYRE Canarias
- ACYRE Madrid
- Turismo de Tenerife
The participation of ACYRE Canarias and ACYRE Madrid was key to ensuring the gastronomic rigor of the process and compliance with technical standards required by Guinness World Records.
Impact on Tourism and Tenerife’s Image
This record positions Santiago del Teide and Tenerife on the international map, demonstrating the island’s capacity to organize large-scale events that combine tradition, innovation, and social commitment. The initiative reinforces the municipality’s community character and links gastronomic celebration with real and positive social impact.
